The Oceanographic Observatory of Villefranche-sur-Mer is an internal school of Sorbonne University. As such, it organises Master’s and Bachelor’s courses at Sorbonne University on its site. Two teacher-researchers are members of the LBDV. On the OOV site, they are in charge of the Bachelor’s degree (L3) and Master’s degree (M1 & M2) courses.
These courses are concerned with Cell Biology, Developmental and Reproductive Biology at the fundamental and applied levels.

Laboratoire de Biologie du développement UMR 7009
This complementary Learning Unit takes place over 2 weeks and allows students to discover the different aspects (jobs & research) of the Oceanological Observatory of Villefranche-sur-Mer. Workshops and journal clubs are organised so that students can put their theoretical knowledge of biology into practice and develop their scientific communication skills in French and English.
This course allows 1st year Master students to spend 2 weeks at the Oceanological Observatory of Villefranche-sur-Mer. The course is compulsory for students of the Master’s degree in Integrative Biology and Marine Bioresources, while it can be chosen as an option by students of the Master’s degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology. Students participate in workshops presenting the marine organisms used by the laboratory’s research teams (LBDV) and learn to manipulate them during practical work on topics ranging from fundamental developmental biology to applied toxicology.

This cours takes place over 2 weeks and is held at the Developmental Biology Laboratory of Villefranche -sur-Mer (LBDV). It includes the examination of the scientific analysis Learning Unit (5V089) followed by the students of the Developmental Biology speciality.
During the first week, students participate in workshops and meetings with the laboratory’s researchers.
During the second week, the students are divided into teams to carry out a mini-project which they present on the last day of the course. The course is given in English for all or part of it.
